Kathryn Sunderbruch, MD
Medical Director (North & East and Pediatrics)
Kathryn Sunderbruch, MD joined VNA in 2009 and is a Board Certified Pediatrician who serves as VNA’s Medical Director of North & East locations and Pediatrics at all locations. Dr. Sunderbruch reports to the Chief Clinical Officer and is responsible for the day-to-day supervision for family practice, OB/GYN, and pediatric physicians and nurse practitioners at VNA Health Center sites in Elgin, Carol Stream, Bensenville, and Wheaton. In collaboration with the VP of Provider Relations, Dr. Sunderbruch is responsible for overseeing selection, training, orientation and managing of provider staff. Dr. Sunderbruch provides supervision and peer review for VNA Health Center providers including holding regular staff meetings, individual review/discussion of productivity reports on a monthly basis, new employee and annual written provider evaluations including clinical observation, individual coaching, and disciplinary action, if needed. Dr. Sunderbruch participates in Quality Improvement and Medical Risk Management and audits provider charts on a regular basis for accuracy and appropriate patient assessment and initiation of appropriate treatment and follow-up as indicated.
Dr. Sunderbruch earned her Bachelor of Science degree at Bradley University, Peoria, Illinois and her Medical Doctorate at Southern Illinois University. Prior to joining VNA, Dr. Sunderbruch served as Chief Pediatric Resident, Loyola Medical Center, Maywood, Illinois.
