Linnea Windel, RN, MSN, FAAN
President & Chief Executive Officer
Linnea Windel has focused her career on improving the health of communities and, specifically, care for those with the greatest socio-economic challenges. Serving as CEO of VNA Health Care since 1999, she led the transformation of the organization from a home health focused provider into a diversified community healthcare network serving suburban Chicago with the provision of primary care, specialty services, home-based care and wellness programs.
She developed and implemented an effective, efficient and innovative model of primary care that emphasizes a team approach with each team member working at the top of their scope, the importance of same-day care, a systematic approach to quality using patient-centered technology and proactive patient communication and an emphasis on wellness. Today, VNA Health Care operates 14 clinics, is the largest FQHC in suburban Chicago and in the top 5% of FQHCs in the U.S. based on the number of unduplicated patients. Over 500,000 individuals have been served by VNA Health Care over the past 17 years.
VNA Health Care is consistently recognized by HRSA as a Health Center Quality Leader and in 2019 earned gold designation which is awarded to the top 10% of FQHCs in the nation based on overall clinical performance. Further, VNA Health Care’s cost per patient is substantially lower than FQHC state and national averages.
